I was skeptical about art doubling as a sound fix, but the fabric's texture and the PET panel behind it really tie the kitchen together. It killed the echo from the hallway nicely, and the print looks like a proper gallery piece, not a cheap panel.
The recycled PET backing feels surprisingly solid for how lightweight the whole piece is. It’s been up for two weeks now and the textile print still looks crisp, even with the kitchen steam from cooking every night.
Hung it above our dining nook and the textured fabric really breaks up the plain wall, the print looks almost like a painting up close. The recycled PET panel keeps it super light, so it took one person and two screws to mount. Sound in the kitchen does feel a bit less echoey, which is a nice bonus.
