A peça de parede Ceramic Weave explora formas novas e alternativas de utilizar a tecnologia de argila impressa em 3D, ultrapassando os limites do que é possível com terracota. A tecnologia de impressão 3D permite abordagens à produção em série, criando objetos que não seriam possíveis através de técnicas tradicionais de construção manual. Desenhada por Davide Ronco e Pablo Dorigo, a escultura de parede em cerâmica é vidrada num acabamento verde fosco que brinca com a luz e a sombra, e pode ser pendurada individualmente ou em grupos. Devido à natureza da sua construção impressa em 3D, irregularidades na forma, composição, textura e acabamento fazem parte do processo de produção e não são um defeito do objeto. Para pendurar, use pregos com cabeça mais pequena que se encaixem facilmente nas muitas cavidades da superfície traseira. Use pregos adequados à parede onde serão montados. The layered weave pattern catches the light differently depending on the time of day, which I wasn't expecting from a clay piece. Hung it above the console table and it reads more like sculpture than wall decor. Print lines are visible up close but honestly that's part of the charm.

Wasn't sure how 3D-printed clay would look in person, but the terracotta weave has a nice weight to it and hangs flat against the wall. Only gripe is that the taupe reads a bit grayer in my hallway light than on screen, still happy with it though.

The 3D-printed terracotta gives it a texture you don't really see in regular clay pieces, and the taupe color blends perfectly with my beige walls. Only thing is it's lighter than expected, so I had to use a sturdier hook to keep it hanging straight.
